Jeremy Reily, principal of Bay Creek Middle School, has been named a Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP) Principal of the Year Finalist.

“Being named a finalist is an incredible honor, not just for me but for Bay Creek Middle School as a whole,” Reily says. “It reflects the work of our teachers, staff, students, and families who believe in our mission and live it every day.”

The Principal of the Year program recognizes outstanding middle school and high school principals who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students and have made exemplary contributions to the profession.

This recognition highlights Reily's dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence. As one of four finalists for the award, he’s made a lasting impact on students, staff, and the community at Bay Creek Middle. The finalists are chosen based on a rigorous application process that evaluates their leadership, dedication to their schools and communities, and innovative educational approaches.

Under Reily's leadership, Bay Creek Middle was previously recognized by GASSP as a "Breakout School" in 2022. This award identifies high-achieving or dramatically improving middle and high schools in Georgia.

“I’m also deeply appreciative of GASSP and the way it consistently advocates for public schools across Georgia,” Reily adds. “I am inspired daily by the chance to build a school culture where great teaching thrives—because great teaching is what causes learning. I believe schools should have strong foundations—anchored in our core values while pushing forward with innovation, ensuring that excellence today can be sustained and built upon tomorrow.”

Each year, the GASSP Principal of the Year moves on to compete in the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Principal of the Year competition.
