An outstanding group of students recently received the news that they were selected for the 2025-26 Lawrenceville Legacy Leader Cohort.
Launched in August 2022, the Lawrenceville Legacy Leaders (L3) is an 8-month youth leadership program created and co-led by Impact46 and the City of Lawrenceville. Students in the program meet monthly to focus on civic engagement, leadership skills, and cover key topics on leadership development, community engagement, and local civics.
“We help students build connections with local businesses and organizations while helping them build a sense of belonging and love for their city,” says Students46 Program Manager Kim Parson.
Events L3 students participate in include Love Lawrenceville Day and Summer of Impact. Parson adds that by the end of these programs, students are more involved and connected to the city where they live or go to school. L3 participants also create their own projects, and many stay in touch with the program after going to college or entering the workforce. This summer, former Legacy Leaders facilitated a summer workshop, "Beyond the Bell: Preparing for Life After High School." Another unique project created by students is "Wellfest: Positive Vibes, Positive Minds," a free mental health awareness event they launched in 2023.

Interested students must apply online at Students46.org. Students are selected for the L3 cohort based on a scoring rubric. Students46 accepts students from Central Gwinnett High School, Discovery High School, Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Maxwell High School of Technology, and Phoenix High School.
