With the new school year underway, the Facilities and Operations employee advisory councils are scheduled to resume, with meetings taking place in through October. These councils include the Bus Driver Advisory Council, School Nutrition Program Advisory Council, Custodial Advisory Council, Head Custodian Consortium, Grounds Maintenance Advisory Council, Building Maintenance Advisory Council, and Fleet Maintenance Advisory Council.
The Facilities and Operations employee advisory councils enhance communication between employees and leadership, providing an established platform and avenue for productive dialogue and discussion. Each council has a framework of clear purpose, established guidelines, and shared understanding of expectations.
The councils serve as critical forums where employees can voice concerns, ask questions, offer constructive feedback, and propose solutions to workplace challenges. By creating these avenues for open dialogue, Facilities and Operations strives to build a culture that values employee input and uses it to drive organizational improvements. Advisory council meetings typically occur 3-4 times during the school year, and councils are made up of approximately 15-30 members, based on size of employee population represented. Employees interested in serving on an advisory council should contact their supervisor for more information.
