Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) applauds Ken Yant, Executive Director of the School Nutrition Program, for being named the Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence (FAME) 2026 Golden Director. The FAME Golden Director award is a prestigious distinction and pinnacle of achievement in the K-12 school nutrition industry.

FAME Awards honor school nutrition professionals who have made a positive and lasting impact in their school district and local communities. Award winners are selected by a special selection committee of former FAME Award winners, School Nutrition Association (SNA) board members and staff, and select industry media partners. Yant was chosen from a group of national nominees, and this award reflects his dedication, leadership, and commitment to the district’s School Nutrition program.

FAME award recipients are recognized for innovative leadership and best-in-class K-12 nutrition programs, including the development and support of farm-to-school initiatives, and increasing culturally diverse menu choices. Yant has led the GCPS School Nutrition Program team to exceptional success in these areas and others including establishment of a menu council, and a School Nutrition Program manager advisory council to elevate the voices of our school nutrition employees. He has led with quality and innovation that have directly benefited the students and families of GCPS through exceptional service and high-quality meals and programs.

Yant received the Golden Director Award on January 11 at the 37th Annual FAME Awards Ceremony which is part of the School Nutrition Industry Conference held in Austin, Texas.
