Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) has officially launched the GCPS Sports Report, a new podcast dedicated to showcasing the depth and talent of its athletic programs. Whether you're cheering from the bleachers or tuning in from home, the show offers a comprehensive look at the people, performances, and programs that have propelled GCPS to national prominence in middle and high school sports.

The GCPS Sports Report goes beyond the scoreboard, featuring championship highlights, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories that capture the energy and excellence of GCPS athletics. Each episode aims to spotlight the student-athletes, coaches, and community members who contribute to the district’s legacy of success.

Grayson High Takes the Spotlight

The debut episode centers on Grayson High School, home of the defending state champion football team. Listeners are treated to an in-depth conversation with Head Varsity Coach Santavious Bryant and 5-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, the number-one high school linebacker in the nation, and a University of Texas commit. These two share insights into the program’s culture of discipline, leadership, and teamwork. From the rigors of practice to the intensity of Friday night lights, their interview offers a rare glimpse into what drives one of Georgia’s top high school football programs.

District-Wide Athletic Updates

The episode also features GCPS Athletic Director Jason Holcombe, a Gwinnett County native, who shares insights into the factors driving the district’s athletic success. With seven returning state championship teams, Holcombe discusses the programs and initiatives that continue to elevate GCPS athletics—including his early predictions for which team might take home the football state title this season.

Hall of Fame? More Like Hall of Pain

The episode wraps with a segment that’s equal parts hilarious and humbling: the Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Pain. Unlike traditional halls of fame, this lighthearted feature invites guests to share their most painful or embarrassing sports moments—from missed game-winning shots to wardrobe malfunctions on the field. It’s a reminder that behind every highlight reel is a blooper or two—and that even the best athletes have stories that make them laugh (or cringe) years later.

With its engaging format and focus on storytelling, the GCPS Sports Report is poised to become a valuable platform for celebrating the achievements and aspirations of GCPS athletics. The GCPS Sports Report can be found wherever podcasts are available.
