Congratulations are in order for a Lilburn Elementary School custodian! Elizabeth Barreto Baquero was named the winner of KISS 104.1 FM’s “Outstanding School Employee Award.” Baquero was nominated by 4th grade teacher Lasandra Cobb, who describes her as a “kind, thoughtful, and loving person who cares about the safety of the school and students.” Baquero has worked at Lilburn Elementary for five years, where her colleagues say she is known for consistently forming intergenerational relationships with students by sharing wisdom, increasing their growth mindsets, and ensuring that students have a clean environment in which to learn and develop.

“Her dedication and unconditional support are the epitome of the motto ‘Together, we can make a difference,’” says Lilburn Elementary Principal Mike Bender.
