Meadowcreek High School junior Madison "Maddie" Dumas has been selected by the Atlanta Falcons to receive the Trailblazer Award presented by Georgia Power. This award honors high school student-athletes in Georgia for their impact on both their community and flag football team. Madison received the award at the Falcons’ home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where she carried the Trailblazer Flag while leading the team onto the field for the kickoff.

“Known for her dynamic abilities on the flag football field, Maddie is a dual-threat athlete playing both quarterback and receiver,” says Head Coach Angel Lewis. “Her versatility and skill make her a key player for her team, seamlessly switching between throwing precision passes and catching game-changing throws.”

While Madison not only performs on the football field, she also excels in basketball and in the classroom. She has a 3.4 grade point average and takes several Advanced Placement courses. Off the field, Maddie volunteers with Creek United, a student leadership program focused on building a stronger, more connected school community. She actively mentors young girls and teaches foundational skills and drills in both sports

“Madison Dumas exemplifies the spirit of the Trailblazer Award through her commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership,” says Meadowcreek High Principal Dr. Kevin Wood. “Her dedication to both her academic pursuits and the community has set a new standard for those around her."
