Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) congratulates North Metro Academy of Performing Arts on a decade of excellence!
The North Metro community celebrated its tenth anniversary on November 1 in the school cafeteria. Students, staff, families, and special guests, including GCPS Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts, Gwinnett County Board of Education member Dr. Mary Kay Murphy (District III), Dr. Beauty P. Baldwin, and GCPS Cluster Superintendent Dr. Reuben Gresham, enjoyed student performances, guest speakers, and remarks from student leaders.
North Metro, founded by Dr. Baldwin as a charter school, serves the Norcross community by offering students an alternative education focused on exploring their passion for the arts.
“North Metro Academy of Performing Arts engages students in instruction that integrates academics and the performing arts in ways that address the unique needs and interests of each student while intentionally developing confidence, imagination, and collaboration,” says North Metro Principal Monique Lee. “These principles help develop scholars’ unique interests, build their sense of responsibility, and provide a strong foundation for becoming successful graduates and productive citizens.”
