Dear GCPS Families,

At Gwinnett County Public Schools, we are committed to making every student feel safe, respected, and supported. By law, a student’s immigration status—or that of their family—does not affect their right to attend public school. Our focus remains on providing a welcoming learning environment where all students can thrive.

We know that ongoing national conversations about immigration policies have caused concern for many in our community. News about possible mass deportations and changes in enforcement has raised understandable fears for some students, families, and staff.

We recognize that people in our community have different opinions and experiences. But no matter our differences, we are united in our responsibility to protect the dignity, rights, and safety of every student in our schools.

The safety and well-being of our students are always our top priorities. GCPS will continue to follow our school safety procedures, district policies, and all applicable
state and federal laws. We also follow clear legal guidelines about who is allowed to contact students during the school day.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s school. Thank you for being a valued part of the GCPS community.

Committed to excellence, together,
Al Taylor Signature
