One Gwinnett County Public Schools student has been selected as a winner for the 2025 Disney Dreamers Academy Essay Contest. Kylan Robinson of Berkmar High School has won an invitation and prize package to attend the Disney Dreamers Academy. Hosted at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from March 26-30, Robinson and 99 other winners will come together to experience a weekend that is full of educational development, guest speakers, networking, and hands-on learning opportunities.

“It feels amazing to be recognized for who I am and what I want to accomplish. A lot of times, students get looked at as just a number or part of a statistic, but this selection makes me feel seen,” says Robinson  “Knowing that I’m the first student from Berkmar High to be chosen makes it even more special. I hope it inspires others at my school to step out on faith and go for opportunities like this despite any challenges they may face or the naysayers that may discourage them.”

Each spring, the Disney Dreamers Academy selects 100 high school students between the ages of 13 and 19 to expand their horizons through workshops. Winners receive complimentary airfare and hotel accommodations for themselves and a guardian. They encourage young leaders with intellectual curiosity, compassion, courage, and optimism to apply.

“Kylan is an exceptionally motivated young man with the potential to make a significant impact on the world. His intelligence and drive are evident in everything he undertakes, and he consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence,” says Berkmar High Principal Durrant Williams. “We are immensely proud of Kylan for his incredible accomplishment and for bringing such positive recognition to Berkmar High. The faculty and staff here are thrilled that Kylan will have this remarkable opportunity, and we are confident that he will make the most of it.”
