On Saturday, February 28, Collins Hill High School will host the 2026 Gwinnett Readers Rally, the largest annual in‑person reading bowl in the nation. This year’s event will welcome 87 schools from every level and cluster, continuing a long-standing tradition of celebrating literacy and fostering a love of reading among students across Gwinnett County.

To prepare for Readers Rally, students spend an average of eight months reading ten carefully selected books that represent the very best of modern children’s literature. High school teams read titles chosen from the Georgia Peach Award for Teen Readers nominees. Middle and elementary school teams read from a list of highly recommended books curated and narrowed to 10 by a committee of GCPS library media specialists, teachers, and family members.

Rally teams proudly represent their schools as they go head‑to‑head against other schools in their division, answering detailed questions about the Rally books in a fast‑paced, quiz‑bowl‑style competition. Division winners will advance to the championship rounds, which will be recorded in the GCPS TV studio on Wednesday, March 11.

Attendance for this year’s event is expected to reach approximately 1,500 participants, families, and supporters. The success of such a large-scale endeavor would not be possible without the more than 200 GCPS employees, community members, and high school volunteers who generously donate their Saturday morning to help ensure an engaging, rewarding, and memorable experience for all teams.
