District II Area Board and Town Hall Meeting will be held on Friday, April 24

     The Gwinnett County Board of Education (BOE) will kick off the first of five Area Board and Town Hall Meetings on Friday, April 24, at Discovery High School, hosted by Mr. Steven B. Knudsen (District II).

     This opening meeting marks the start of a series of events at schools in each Board district, designed to provide an opportunity for students, families, and community members to engage with their Board representative, welcome the district’s new superintendent, Dr. Alexandra Estrella, and hear more about her background and leadership experience.

     Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions in advance or during the meeting using an online question system. Community members are encouraged to submit questions in advance using the unique web link for their district’s meeting. During the Q&A portion, priority will be given to questions that the Board District community is most interested in. (Although the 2026 Area Board and Town Hall Meetings are organized by School Board district, citizens may attend any of the five meetings.)

     All meetings, held in the host school’s theater, begin at 6 p.m., end promptly at 8 p.m., and will be streamed and recorded. They can be viewed live online on the GCPS website, on the GCPS TV app, or on Vimeo. Recordings of the meetings will be available the next day on each District Area Board Meeting page, the Board of Education Meeting Archive page, and through the GCPS TV app.
