Four GCPS Schools clinch top honors, qualifying for VEX Robotics World Championship

The robotics teams at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST), Five Forks Middle School, Jones Middle School, and North Gwinnett Middle School earned top honors at the 2025 Georgia VEX V5 Robotics Competition. The in-person event challenges students’ design and operating skills in robotics in an engaging tournament-style competition. Their success has landed them a spot as World Qualifying competitors. The VEX Robotics World Championship will be held May 6-14.
“I am incredibly proud of the achievements of GSMST and North Gwinnett, Jones, and Five Forks Middle Schools' robotics teams. Winning first place at the VEX Robotics State Competition and qualifying for the world championship is a testament to our students' and mentors' hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit,” shares GCPS Director of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Sallie Holloway. “These accomplishments not only showcase our students' technical skills but also their ability to collaborate and solve complex problems.”
