Four students from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) have earned top honors at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference held this summer in Orlando, Florida. The event brought together more than 18,000 participants, including 12,000 students from nearly 2,100 schools in 43 U.S. states, territories, and two countries. In addition to attending workshops, the students competed in a variety of business-related events for $120,000 in cash prizes. They also had the opportunity to connect with representatives from more than 100 colleges, universities, and employers, including major organizations like Men’s Wearhouse, National Geographic Learning/Cengage, PNC Bank, and representatives from the United States Armed Forces, to name a few.

Meadowcreek HS
- Juan Ramos-Pena - Second Place, Graphic Design
- Nahawand Sedran - Second Place, Graphic Design
North Gwinnett HS
- Irene Oh - First Place, Introduction to FBLA
- Wendy Wang - Second Place, Public Service Announcement
“We are so proud of our North Gwinnett students who have demonstrated their college and career readiness skills at the FBLA national level to win these top honors,” says North Gwinnett High School Principal Nathan Ballantine. “This demonstrates how our world-class education prepares our students for the classroom and beyond. We wish them the best of luck in their future as they aspire to become the next generation of global business leaders.”
During the conference, middle and high school students heard from Shawn D. Nelson, founder and CEO of Lovesac, who shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey. College students received career advice from Gorick Ng, a Wall Street Journal bestselling author and career adviser at Harvard University.
