Two Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) educators are being recognized for their outstanding achievements in Art. Amber Arnold, a Fine Arts Instructional Coach for the district [J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center], and Kelly Rollocks, an art instructor at Berkmar Middle School, earned honors from the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA). Arnold received GAEA’s 2025 Supervision/Administration Art Educator of the Year Award, and Rollocks was named GAEA’s 2025 Outstanding Georgia Middle Art Educator of the Year.
The GAEA recognizes members annually for their service and commitment to the field of visual arts across the state of Georgia. To be selected, candidates are nominated by their colleagues/peers and then chosen through a rigorous committee process. “This award [Supervisor/Administrator Art Educator of the Year] honors a person who serves in a supervisory or administrative position in support of teachers. In her role as an instructional coach, Amber’s leadership in the support of our teachers is unmatched,” says GCPS Director of Fine Arts David DuBose. “[Kelly Rollocks] works tirelessly designing and supporting professional learning, writing curriculum, and providing overall teacher support specific to middle school art teachers in our district and that is on top of the amazing work that she does in her classroom and school every day."
GAEA is a professional organization that is dedicated to enhancing visual arts and art education in the state of Georgia. Through leadership, research, and service, GAEA ensures that art educators are given the resources they need to succeed and be champions of art to inspire young learners.
