Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is well represented on the Georgia Department of Education 2026 Advanced Placement (AP) Honors Schools list. Twenty-four GCPS high schools made one or more of the lists. Several Gwinnett schools were recognized in more than one category.

“This recognition is more than an award—it reflects the commitment, talent, and dedication of our students, teachers, and families across GCPS,” says Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Interim Superintendent Dr. Al Taylor. “Being named 2026 AP Honor Schools shows that we are not only preparing students for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom. This achievement inspires us to continue expanding opportunities and supporting every student in reaching their full potential.”

AP exams are administered by the College Board, which also administers the SAT. AP courses are one of several ways Georgia students can access college-level learning while in high school; students who earn a score of 3, 4, or 5 on an AP exam may receive college credit.
