Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors invite families of students receiving special education services at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school) to attend a presentation titled “Navigating the holidays and avoiding caretaker fatigue” on Tuesday, November 12. While the holidays are meant to be a time of joy and celebration, they can also be an enormous source of stress and anxiety. In this session, GCPS Special Education Department Parent Mentor Dawn Albanese will share some tips, ideas, and strategies to help families navigate time off from school, social gatherings, and holiday traditions. The importance of self-care as a method for avoiding caretaker fatigue will also be discussed.
