Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors invite parents of students receiving special education services at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school) to attend a presentation titled “Families Engaging in Education.” The four-part workshop begins on Tuesday, September 10. This workshop aims to nurture and develop engaged families by helping them to positively support their child’s academic success. GCPS Special Education Department Parent Mentor Dawn Albanese will discuss The Individual Education Program (IEP) process and its components, your role as a member of the child’s IEP team, and effective communication skills needed to help build collaborative relationships.        

To receive the full benefit of the workshop, participants are encouraged to attend all the in-person sessions or all the virtual sessions.
