Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors are hosting an informative and engaging workshop for parents of students receiving special education services in GCPS schools. This event, “Locating and Understanding Resources within the Community,” will provide an overview of a few community resources families may find very helpful, such as: Family Support Funding, the NOW/COMP Medicaid Waiver, the Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver, PeachCare for Kids, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The series is highly recommended for parents of students at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school). The session will cover:
- Family Support Funding
- The NOW/COMP Medicaid Waiver
- The Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver
- PeachCare for Kids
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
