GCPS students and educator earn top honors at the FBLA State and National Leadership Conferences
- GCPS News
Six Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) middle school students, nine high school seniors, and one teacher have been recognized at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State and National Leadership Conferences.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding achievements at the national and state FBLA competitions. Winning first and second place at both the middle and high school levels is a testament to their hard work, leadership, and dedication,” says Dustin Davis-Austin, GCPS Director of Academies and Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE).
In these competitive leadership events, Georgia FBLA members can compete in nearly 100 individual and team events, including accounting, business management, coding and programming, entrepreneurship, personal finance, and web design.
In addition, Pintu Thaker, a teacher at Meadowcreek High School, has been named the Region 13 Advisor of the Year. Each year, schools in one of Georgia FBLA’s 13 regions nominate an advisor to represent their respective regions. The Georgia FBLA Executive Director and the organization’s Board of Directors select the winners.
“We also celebrate the exceptional recognition of one of our own educators being named Georgia FBLA Region 13 Advisor of the Year—an honor that reflects the passion and commitment of our teachers. These accomplishments highlight the strength of our CTAE programs and the bright future ahead for our students,” adds Davis-Austin.
