Eight Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students have secured 1st and 2nd place at the 2025 Lockheed Martin Code Quest Competition. Students at both Meadowcreek High School and Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) showed off their coding skills at Lockheed Martin’s annual competition, which challenges students to work together to complete their “quest” using programming languages like Java, Python, and/or C++. The quest is designed with 20-30 problem-solving challenges created by Lockheed Martin’s engineering and computing team.

“The remarkable achievements of students from the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology and Meadowcreek High School at the Lockheed Martin Code Quest competition reflect the depth of talent at both schools,” GCPS Director of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Sallie Holloway shares. “Securing first and second place highlights their exceptional skills, teamwork, and dedication to mastering computer science skills. I am incredibly proud of our teachers who are preparing students to tackle complex challenges.”

The three-hour competition sends students on a CYBERQUEST® using cloud-based technology. The teams must use steganography, reverse engineering, full operating system (OS) hacks, packet capture, web exploits, cybersecurity awareness, and social engineering. The event aims to inspire students to pursue careers in Cybersecurity.
