Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students are once again proving they’re among the best in the nation. New ACT results released Wednesday show GCPS students outscored the Georgia and national averages in every subject — English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. They also posted a college readiness rate well above their peers around the state and nation.

The GCPS Class of 2025 earned an average composite score of 23.1, topping the state average of 21.4 and the national average of 19.4. Nearly half of GCPS test-takers — 42% — met all four of ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks, a strong indication that they are prepared to succeed in college-level coursework.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Al Taylor credits the district’s students, staff, and families for their continued focus on excellence. “These results reflect the hard work of our students and the support they receive from caring teachers and families,” Dr. Taylor shares. “We are proud of their accomplishments and remain committed to helping every student graduate ready for what’s next — college, career, and life.”

The ACT is a national college admissions exam that high school students take to measure their readiness for post-secondary success. Results include 2025 graduates who tested as juniors or seniors.

GCPS’ strong ACT performance follows recent SAT results showing Georgia students outperforming the nation, with Gwinnett continuing to lead large districts in preparing graduates for future success. District and School Level scores are available on the Georgia Department of Education website.
