  • GCPS News

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students at Maxwell High School of Technology recently participated in SkillsUSA National Signing Day events. SkillsUSA National Signing Day is a nationwide celebration showcasing the next generation of skilled professionals.

Maxwell High School of Technology partnered with SkillsUSA National to host signing days on April 29, and May 6, sponsored by Find Your Grind. During the two events, more than 80 SkillsUSA students were recognized by administrators, teachers, advisors, family, friends, and more as they signed letters of intent committing to pursue skilled career paths. Students from the Architecture, Collison Repair, Construction, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Fire Fighting, Flight Operations, Graphic Design, and Health Care Sciences Pathways participated.

“We want to thank our community for supporting SkillsUSA National Signing Day,” says Dr. Jeff Hall, Principal of Maxwell High School of Technology. “This program celebrates our career and technical education students and acknowledges their commitment to skilled career pathways. Signing Day is a powerful example of a program that elevates the perception of skilled careers for the incredible opportunities they offer our students, both personally and professionally.”

By empowering the next generation of skilled professionals and career-ready leaders, GCPS, SkillsUSA, community and business partners, and our committed teachers are closing the skills gap while highlighting the amazing opportunities that exist in fulfilling, lucrative, and in-demand skilled careers.
