The Georgia Association of School Psychologists (GASP) has named Dr. Kimberly Trimble, an Early Learning and School Readiness (ELSR) psychologist for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), the 2024 School Psychologist of the Year award honoree.
As a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Dr. Trimble was chosen based on her ability to provide a full range of psychological services, her outstanding job performance, and the respect she has earned from colleagues, students, and parents. The award also highlights her pride in being a member of both GASP and serving annually on the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) convention committee, as well as her commitment to representing the profession with integrity and professionalism.
“I am so humbled to accept this award knowing that I’m not just representing myself but Gwinnett County, where I work; DeKalb County, where I graduated, and most importantly, my family - past and present,” says Dr. Trimble.
The School Psychologist of the Year award aims to identify outstanding school psychologists and raise public awareness of their vital role in education. GCPS Director of Special Education Support Services Kathryn Hanson says Dr. Trimble is a leader who positively impacts lives. “Dr. Trimble works collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel in our Early Learning and School Readiness program,” Hanson shares. “She is also an active member of GASP and NASP and engages in advocacy efforts for school psychologists and students with disabilities. This recognition is well deserved as Dr. Trimble is a wonderful asset and role model in the school psychology profession.”
