Gwinnett County’s public schools continue to score above state averages according to Georgia’s College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). CCRPI is Georgia’s tool for annually measuring how well schools, districts, and the state are helping students achieve academic goals. The calculation of CCRPI includes five components:

  • Content Mastery: Addresses whether students are achieving at the level necessary to be prepared for the next grade, college, or career.
  • Progress: Measures how much growth students demonstrate in English language arts and mathematics and how well English learners are progressing toward English language proficiency.
  • Closing Gaps: Measures how well schools meet annual improvement targets for student groups.
  • Readiness: Addresses whether students are participating in activities preparing them for and demonstrating readiness for the next grade, college, or career.
  • Graduation Rate (high schools only)

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) elementary and middle school district scores were higher than the state on Content Mastery, Progress, and Readiness. GCPS high school district scores were higher than the state on Content Mastery. Please refer to the table below for more information.

*Closing Gaps is not comparable over time because the 2024 score excludes math scores; the math scores are included in the 2025 score.

Due to a permanent addendum from the U.S. Department of Education, implemented this year, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) no longer calculates an overall CCRPI score for schools, districts, or the state. According to the GaDOE, “The change was made to increase transparency and provide a more complete picture of school performance, ensuring that challenges and opportunities are not hidden behind a single score.” A deeper presentation of CCRPI in GCPS will be shared with the Gwinnett County Board of Education during its January 2026 Work Session.
