Cooper Elementary recognized as a 2026 CS Certified Spotlight School by CharacterStrong

Cooper Elementary School has been named a 2026 CS Certified Spotlight School, a recognition awarded by CharacterStrong to schools that demonstrate strong, intentional implementation of practices that support student belonging, well-being, and engagement.

“Being named a 2026 CharacterStrong Spotlight School is more than an award; it’s a reflection of who we are as a WOW community, creating Wonder, Opportunity, and Worth for EVERYONE, and living out our vision and mission at Cooper each and every day,” says Cooper Elementary Principal Chi Ethridge.

The CS Certified Schools program honors schools that are translating commitment into action through thoughtful systems, adult practices, and meaningful schoolwide implementation. The CS Certified Level I - Spotlight School recognition celebrates schools that demonstrate a commitment to building a culture in which students are consistently supported to meet the demands of learning and life.

This recognition highlights the efforts of the educators and leaders at Cooper Elementary who are working to ensure students experience a school environment marked by connection, support, and opportunity to grow. Schools recognized through the 2026 CS Certified Schools program will be celebrated at the CharacterStrong National Conference in July, where honorees will be recognized publicly among peers from across the country.

“This recognition also reflects the unwavering commitment and support of our families, partners, and stakeholders who invest in our work and stand beside us. It represents the daily commitment of our staff, the growth and voice of our students, and our shared belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued,” Ethridge adds. “This honor belongs to all of us and celebrates the culture of belonging, well-being, and excellence we are building together at Cooper.”

CharacterStrong’s CS Certified Schools program includes three levels:
