GCPS Foundation provides donations from partners to students and families

In this season of giving, the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Foundation has been helping our district’s learning communities through donations from local businesses and community partners.

“We’re having a dynamic holiday season, and our families are very appreciative,” says Aaron Lupuloff, Senior Executive Director of the GCPS Foundation. “Every contribution helps ensure families have the support they need.”

Lupuloff credits GCPS’ School Resource Officers and the district’s Facilities and Operations team for their support and assistance in picking up and delivering donated items. He says they are essential partners who make a huge difference in getting donations into the hands of GCPS families.

Melissa Madsen, Principal at Britt Elementary School, says staff and students are deeply grateful for the generous donations from the GCPS Foundation. She adds that these contributions provide families with a little financial breathing room and bring joy to students.

“The excitement and curiosity when receiving these gifts are heartwarming—many students even ask for extras to share with their siblings,” Madsen says. “Small acts of kindness make a big difference, and we truly appreciate the Foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of our students and families.”

Business partners like InspiredConsumer frequently donate items and visit schools to help distribute food to families. Donations have also included Danimals® yogurt smoothies, Expo® Dry Erase Markers, Lunchables from Kraft-Heinz, Inc., and more than 40,000 ARM & HAMMER™ cleaning packets.

Other donations include a $3,250 grant from Papa Johns®, 2,400 packets of High Fiber Extreme Wellness flour tortillas and tortilla chips from OLÉ Mexican Foods, Inc., and $10,000 in gift cards to Lanier High School from a local Zaxby’s location. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Lilburn is the most recent donor, providing more than 3,000 pounds of canned food that will be delivered to several school food pantries in December.
