Gwinnett County Public Schools celebrates Valedictorians & Salutatorians at Inaugural Breakfast

     On February 6, 2025, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) hosted its first-ever Valedictorian & Salutatorian Breakfast Celebration, recognizing the academic excellence of the district’s top graduates in the Class of 2025. Held in partnership with Stratix and the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.®, the event honored the hard work, dedication, and achievements of these students.

     Dr. Ricardo Quinn, Chesney Elementary School principal and a member of the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. opened the event with an inspiring message, emphasizing that each graduate’s journey to success began long before high school. "Graduation is not just a single milestone but the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and passion," Dr. Quinn shared.

     The highlight of the morning was the recognition of each school’s Valedictorian and Salutatorian, who were called to the stage to receive awards and share motivational quotes with their peers. Principals, community partners, district leaders, and two Gwinnett County Board of Education members, Dr. Adrienne Simmons and Steve Gasper, came together with students’ families to celebrate each students’ accomplishments.

     Renowned educator and author Robert Jackson delivered a powerful keynote address, urging students to embrace challenges and lead purposefully. Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts also addressed the graduates, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence and making a difference in their communities.

     As the event concluded, Dr. Quinn expressed gratitude to sponsors and attendees, reinforcing the district’s commitment to academic achievement. "Your dedication inspires us all. The future is bright because of students like you," he said.
