Team GCPS has long been a strong supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, and now it’s your turn to join us in making an even bigger impact. We invite you to be a part of the ongoing effort to fight against cancer, celebrate survivors, and support those currently battling the disease. Whether you want to join a team, attend the Relay For Life event, or give through donations, there are many ways you can contribute.
Event Details: Relay For Life of Gwinnett will be held on April 26th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Suwanee Town Center. This free, family-friendly event will feature the Survivor Celebration from 4:00-6:00 PM, fun kids’ activities in the Gold Zone, food trucks, live entertainment, and more. It’s a great opportunity for all ages to come together for a meaningful cause while having fun.
How You Can Help:
- Join the Team: Be part of Team GCPS! You can register and support the efforts of your school by raising funds, volunteering, and making a lasting impact.
- Make a Donation: Contributions to Relay For Life help provide critical services, from cancer research to support programs like Hope Lodge and Road to Recovery. A donation of just $10 could help people find hope and support online through our Cancer Survivors Network, $50 can fund a free ride to treatment for someone in need, and $100 could help advance ground-breaking research and discoveries through research grants.
- Luminarias & Tribute Signs: Honor or remember loved ones by purchasing a luminaria for just $10, which will be illuminated during the special ceremony at sundown. Alternatively, celebrate their memory with a tribute sign for $100, displayed in the Tribute Garden at the event.
The impact of your contribution is tangible. Just last year, Team GCPS raised over $317,000, and this year, we are aiming to increase our fundraising to $375,000. Every dollar counts toward supporting cancer patients, funding research, and enhancing community outreach.
Your involvement not only supports the fight against cancer but also strengthens our school-community partnership. Plus, students can earn volunteer service hours, a fantastic opportunity for leadership development and community engagement. High school students can even earn Relay For Life Graduation Cords as a special recognition for their contributions.
