Back-to-School 2026: Meet the Gwinnett County Public Schools Board of Education

   Gwinnett County Board of Education meetings are set every calendar year in January. The Board of Education holds its monthly meetings at the Instructional Support Center, located at 437 Old Peachtree Road NW, Suwanee. The Work Session is held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., and the Business Meeting takes place on the third Thursday at 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise scheduled.

     All meetings, except executive sessions, are open to the public. Gwinnett County citizens are encouraged to attend Work Sessions and Board of Education meetings to become better acquainted with the operation and programs of the school system. The remaining Work Sessions for the 2026 calendar year are scheduled for the following dates: July 14, August 18, September 23 (4th Wednesday), October 13, November 17, and December 15. The remaining Board Meetings for the 2026 calendar year are scheduled for the following dates: July 16, August 20, September 24 (4th Thursday), October 15, November 19, and December 17. Meeting dates for 2027 will be adopted during the January 2027 meeting. 

 

Board welcomes citizen input:
     The board meeting agenda is prepared before each monthly meeting. Anyone wishing to speak before the Board must inform the Superintendent’s Office in writing by noon on the Wednesday immediately before the Board meeting by filling out the Request Form on the district’s website. Individuals requesting to speak to the Board will receive a notification after completing the electronic form. A maximum of 30 speaker slots will be available each month. An additional 15 requests will be accepted as alternates if any of the first 30 cancel their request by 5 p.m. the day before the meeting. Alternates will be selected to fill canceled speaking slots in the order in which they signed up and will be notified before the meeting if they have been added to the agenda. If an individual needs assistance with the Request Form or has questions, they may email MySchoolBoard@gcpsk12.org

     If citizens wish to address the Board and need interpretation services, they are asked to sign up by Monday of the week of the Board meeting to accommodate their request. Any Board member, staff member, or citizen may suggest items for the agenda. Each month’s meeting agenda is available online at noon on Monday, the week of the Board meeting. In addition, citizens may contact their School Board members, individually or as a group, by e-mail at MySchoolBoard@gcpsk12.org.
