Central Gwinnett High School celebrates seniors at National College Signing Day

On Friday, May 1, Central Gwinnett High School’s Black Knight pride was unmistakable during its livestreamed National College Signing Day event. More than 200 family members joined the majority of the student body to celebrate 174 seniors pursuing college, military, and workforce apprenticeships. The event was organized in partnership with Central Gwinnett’s Counseling team.

Students were introduced and their future plans were met with cheers from the crowd as they walked the red carpet. After all students were recognized and seated, Central Gwinnett High School Principal Shane Orr read the charge from the certificates prior to the official signing ceremony.

“The students being recognized were truly beaming with pride and excitement, and the underclassmen cheering them on from the bleachers was heartwarming,” Orr says. “Our students, staff, parents, and community members love this event and appreciate its significance for our graduates, which is why it has grown significantly in student participation in the past eight years.”
