GCPS high schools make 2025 AP Honors Schools List

GCPS high schools make 2025 AP Honors Schools List

The Georgia Department of Education has released the Advanced Placement (AP) Honors Schools list, and 23 Gwinnett County public high schools made one or more of the lists. Several Gwinnett schools were recognized in more than one category.

“I am incredibly proud of the 23 GCPS high schools recognized as 2025 AP Honor Schools,” Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts shares. “This achievement reflects the hard work of our students, the commitment of our teachers, leaders, and staff, and the loving support of our families.”

AP exams are administered by the College Board, which also administers the SAT. AP courses are one of several ways Georgia students can access college-level learning at the high school level. Students who earn a 3, 4, or 5 on an AP exam may receive college credit. The 2025 AP Honor Schools were named in eight categories based on the results of 2024 AP courses and exams.

“The success of several GCPS schools in multiple categories honoring both access and achievement highlights our continued commitment to providing rigorous coursework and fostering academic excellence for each and every student. Congratulations to everyone who made this achievement possible,” Dr. Watts shares.
