GCPS High Schools rated among the best in state and nation

Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) has been recognized as the top high school in Georgia and one of the best in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. GSMST ranked #1 in Georgia and 7th nationally on the publication’s list of Best High Schools. U.S. News and World Report evaluated data on more than 27,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Nearly 18,000 public high schools were ranked on six key factors, including their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. The complete list ranking Georgia High Schools is on the U.S. News and World Report website.

"Our entire school community was thrilled when we saw the rankings,” says GSMST Principal Logan Malm. “We never take this achievement for granted, and we are so proud of our students, our staff, and our families for their dedication and hard work during the school year. As a specialty choice school, GSMST provides students unique, rigorous, and relevant STEM learning opportunities. Additionally, all students complete the Engineering Career, Technology, and Agricultural Education (CTAE)  pathway and have the opportunity to complete additional CTAE pathways, such as Artificial Intelligence, Game Design, Computer Science, and Biotechnology. Our goal is to empower our students to become lifelong learners and confident leaders through relevant learning experiences that inspire a positive impact on the local and global community. GSMST is such a special school to thousands of families across Gwinnett County, and this honor highlights the collective achievement of every cluster in our district.”

Additionally, 23 Gwinnett County high schools made the Best Georgia High Schools list. Of the GCPS schools ranked, eight schools are in the top 50 in the state (GSMST, North Gwinnett High, Paul Duke STEM High, Brookwood High, Seckinger High, McClure Health Science High, Mill Creek High, and Parkview High), and 12 are ranked in the top 100 statewide (GSMST, North Gwinnett High, Paul Duke STEM High, Brookwood High, Seckinger High, McClure Health Science High, Mill Creek High, Parkview High, Peachtree Ridge High, Grayson High, Lanier High, and Archer High).
