GCPS honored for “exceptional” employee engagement

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) has been named a recipient of the 2025 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA) for employee engagement. This award recognizes the most engaged workplace cultures in the world.

GCPS Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts says the honor underscores the district’s ongoing efforts to cultivate an environment where employees thrive and contribute meaningfully to student success. He explains, “It is an incredible honor for Gwinnett County Public Schools to be recognized as a Gallup Exceptional Workplace. This award reflects our deep commitment to fostering a culture where our employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference in students’ lives every day. Together, we are building a brighter future for our community,” Dr. Watts shares.

Based on data from more than 3.3 million employees across 347 organizations in 53 industries and 90 countries, Gallup’s analysis identifies workplaces that excel in employee engagement. Highly engaged organizations significantly outperform their peers in key business outcomes, including customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety, absenteeism, and overall well-being. Despite the evolving challenges in the workplace, GCPS has remained committed to engaging and developing its employees in ways that enhance the district’s mission and impact.
