GCPS students place at SkillsUSA State Conference

More than five dozen Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students earned Bronze, Silver, and Gold honors at the 2026 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference. A total of 64 GCPS students were recognized at the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) event, which featured more than 150 championships for students to showcase their skills in health science, law and public safety, transportation, human services, and leadership. The annual conference exposes participating CTAE students to networking and career discovery opportunities.

“The 2026 SkillsUSA State Competition proved once again that GCPS students are primed for future success in several professions,” says Director of Academies and CTAE Dustin Davis-Austin. "By mastering high-demand disciplines from cybersecurity to sustainable engineering, these competitors demonstrated a level of professional precision that effectively closes the gap between the classroom and the real world. This year’s results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and the expertise and value our teachers and community partners bring to our schools.”
