Mill Creek High School student wins “High School Video Contest”
Matthew Richey, of Mill Creek High School, has secured first place in the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning’s 13th annual “High School Video Contest.” The contest challenges participants to create a creative video that showcases their skills while also sharing an important message about water conservation and quality. Matthew competed against more than 115 students from 15 Metro Atlanta counties, to create a 30- to 60-second Public Service Announcement (PSA). Among three categories, English, Spanish, and TikTok format, Matthew won for the Spanish category with his video titled “Cambia tu inodoro.”
In the video, students were asked to consider the history of toilets and their importance to public and environmental health. Additionally, students needed to explain how toilets are especially beneficial to water efficiency and conservation in the Metro Atlanta area.
