More 3- and 4-year-olds in Gwinnett County Public Schools’ (GCPS) Shiloh Cluster will soon have access to high-quality early learning experiences that will help prepare them for a bright future.
GCPS is partnering with Gwinnett County to open the Joyful Learning Academy. The new early learning center will open for the 2026–27 school year.
Families interested in enrolling their child must participate in a lottery process, which will open on June 2. Applications can be submitted on the GCPS website.
The application window closes on June 17 at 5:00 p.m., and the lottery drawing will be held on June 23.
Students will be selected at random through a digital process. Once available seats are filled, remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list based on their lottery number. Entering the lottery does not guarantee placement but ensures consideration for available slots.
“We are so excited about this joint project. It will give our youngest learners a strong start,” says GCPS Executive Director of Early Learning and School Readiness Kim Holland. “Every seat we add creates more opportunity for children to build the skills they need to thrive.”
The Joyful Learning Academy will be located at the Gwinnett Community Resource Center, located at 3025 Bethany Church Road in Snellville. The center will serve children in the Shiloh Cluster with preschool classes for 3-year-olds and Pre-K classes for 4-year-olds.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Children must be 3 years old on or before September 1, 2026, to enter the lottery for preschool.
Attendance Zone:
Enrollment is limited to students who live in the Shiloh Cluster attendance zone, including:
- Anderson-Livsey Elementary School
Program Details
Joyful Learning Academy will operate as a full-time program following the GCPS calendar, with school hours from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Transportation will not be provided.
