Free Breakfast and Lunch through December 31, 2020. Due to a USDA waiver extnesion, GCPS will be able to offer meals at no charge through the end of the year.
Dear Parents and Guardians, Earlier this week the USDA granted some additional waiver extensions for school meals. One of these extensions is the flexibility to implement the Seamless Summer Option, which allows us to offer meals at no charge, through 12/31/20. Based on the guidance received from Georgia Department Of Education, GCPS will be able to offer meals at no charge at ALL school sites. What this means: (effective Tuesday, September 8, 2020) Face to face instruction – meals are available at no charge to all students. This includes both breakfast and lunch. Curbside Pick-up – meals are available to anyone 18 or under at no charge and the child does not need to be a GCPS student. (curbside service is still Monday through Thursday) Lastly, we encourage parents/students to complete a Free & Reduced meal application so that meal benefits will resume when this waiver expires.
