You can find your school site assignment in all official NTO communication.

On the first day, at Convocation, you will be welcomed by newly-appointed Superintendent Dr. Alexandra Estrella, members of the Gwinnett County Board of Education, and business leaders from the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, GCPS will hold the New Teacher Academy, held immediately after Convocation. This optional event provides professional development opportunities to provisionally licensed teachers starting out in the school district. District Induction on the second day will consist of an introduction to Gwinnett’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS), High Quality Tier 1 Instruction, Staff Portal navigation, and your incredible district support teams and resources.

You do not need to register. With your hiring, you are automatically registered. You will receive an official email with all instructions and logistics. We record your attendance through a survey administered each day of NTO.

Attendance both days of district orientation as well as your local school orientation is required to receive the $200 honorarium. Please note, the honorarium will be dispersed in your September paycheck. We cannot disperse it earlier due to Board policy.

 We will send official communication to the email address on your file on a weekly basis, beginning June 3, leading up to NTO. Reach out to Human Resources if you need to update your email address with our records.

Yes, all returning teachers, speech language pathologists, counselors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and psychologists are required to attend NTO.

We ask that you dress business casual for Convocation on Day 1 and wear your official NTO 2025 shirt, you will receive your shirt at Convocation check-in, with professional dress bottoms or dress business casual for Induction on Day 2.

For district NTO, there are no makeup dates or actions for you to perform. All resources will be available on your employee portal in the communication centers. Please reach out to your principal if you will be absent from your local school orientation.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children at NTO.
