LEADing with Integrity: Ethics and Education in the Gray Areas

Location: Magnolia Room

Description:

As a new educator, your actions matter—both inside and outside the classroom. But what happens when the right choice isn't always clear? Join us for an essential and interactive session that explores real-world ethical dilemmas faced by teachers just like you. From managing boundaries with students to navigating social media and maintaining professional integrity, we’ll unpack the situations that can challenge even the most well-intentioned educators.

This session will answer questions such as:

  1. Would you recognize a boundary-crossing before it becomes misconduct?
  2. What should you do if a colleague shares something inappropriate?
  3. Can a “harmless” post on your personal account endanger your job?

Whether you're fresh out of your teacher prep program or already in the classroom, you'll leave this session with practical tools, clear expectations, and a deeper understanding of your ethical responsibilities as a professional educator.

Available to: All NTO 2025 attendees

Sessions will take place at the following times:

  • 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
