Visual Arts

Visual Arts Overview

GCPS Visual Arts courses provide students with opportunities to create a variety of artworks, present and display their finished products, and respond to the artwork of other artists. Additionally, students work to create connections with other fine arts disciplines and core subject areas.

From kindergarten to twelfth grade, students create 2D & 3D works of art focusing on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Students explore creative expression and meaning-making within the artmaking process. High school students can expand their creativity through a wide assortment of Visual Arts electives, including ceramics, sculpture, photography, and jewelry courses.
