- Baggett Elementary School was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a Creative School, Arts Integration School of Excellence, honoring the school's commitment to integrating the arts across all subject areas. This recognition reflects the school's comprehensive approach to arts-integrated instruction, ongoing professional learning for staff, and strong community engagement that ensures all students have access to meaningful and rigorous arts experiences.
- Baggett Elementary School continues to advance sustainable learning opportunities through its STEAM Garden, fish hatchery, and chicken coop, providing students with hands-on experiences in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and real-world problem solving. Produce and eggs generated through the school’s sustainability initiatives are donated to families in need, reinforcing the importance of community service, generosity, and civic responsibility.
- Baggett Elementary School’s athletics program was recognized by the Gwinnett Daily Post as a unique elementary school experience, offering students opportunities to develop teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and school pride.
- Baggett Elementary School expanded opportunities in the fine arts through a sold-out production of the musical The Lion King Kids, performed at Discovery High School Auditorium. Excerpts from The Lion King Kids were selected for presentation before the Gwinnett County Public Schools Board of Education, showcasing the talent and accomplishments of Baggett Elementary students on a districtwide stage.
- Baggett Elementary School was again named a PBIS Distinguished School by the Georgia Department of Education in recognition of its commitment to positive student behavior, strong school climate, and student success.
- Baggett Elementary School initiated the Georgia Department of Education STEAM Certification process, further strengthening its commitment to interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and career-connected experiences. Through its STEAM Advisory Council, Baggett Elementary School engaged parents, business partners, and community members in supporting the school’s vision for innovation and student achievement. Students showcased their creativity and technology skills through STEAM Advisory Council events, including student-led stop-motion animation demonstrations that highlighted authentic, project-based learning.
- Baggett Elementary was awarded a matching grant through the Georgia Council for the Arts to support a partnership with the Alliance Theatre whereby each Kindergarten through 3rd grade classroom welcomed in a teaching artist 12 times over the course of the school year to further integrate the arts into classroom instruction.
- Baggett Elementary expanded language learning opportunities by offering Spanish-English language development courses for both students and staff. Transportation was provided to ensure equitable access to the program. In partnership with the district office, Baggett Elementary School launched an internal leadership program to develop the skills and knowledge of participating certified staff members in order to conceive of and implement a professional passion project that positively impacts the school community.
- Baggett Elementary expanded partnerships with other Gwinnett County Public Schools including:
- Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology who provides interns to support our arts and science specials and related extracurricular activities including our school musical and robotics teams.
- Discovery High School who provides peer leaders, soccer coaches, and theatre partners.
- McClure Health Science Health Science High School who provides interns for the school clinic.
