- Baggett Elementary School was once again named a PBIS Distinguished School and a Title I Reward School by the Georgia Department of Education.
- Baggett Elementary School was awarded a grant through the College Football Playoff Foundation, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and School Specialty to create a maker space within our media center. This included collaborative furniture and ten 3D printers.
- Baggett Elementary School was awarded a grant from Better Tomorrow Solar, Solarize Gwinnett, Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful and GCPS to add solar panels to off-set our electricity consumption and for students to study the impact of weather and seasonal shifts on renewable resources.
- Baggett Elementary School was awarded a grant through GCPS to create a 5th grade band.
- Baggett Elementary expanded its athletic extra-curricular activities by offering flag football, volleyball, soccer, and t-ball in addition to basketball, cheerleading, and a dance/step team.
- Baggett Elementary expanded partnerships with other Gwinnett County Public Schools including:
- Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology who provides interns to support our arts and science specials and related extracurricular activities including our school musical and robotics teams.
- Discovery High School who provides peer leaders, soccer coaches, and theatre partners.
- McClure Health Science Health Science High School who provides interns for the school clinic.
- Baggett Elementary was awarded a matching grant through the Georgia Council for the Arts to support a partnership with the Alliance Theatre whereby each Kindergarten through 3rd grade classroom welcomed in a teaching artist 12 times over the course of the school year to further integrate the arts into classroom instruction.
- 3rd-5th grade students at Baggett Elementary had an opportunity to participate in a theatrical production of Finding Nemo Kids which was performed in partnership with Discovery High School and Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology.
- Baggett Elementary continues to work toward STEAM certification in partnership with the district office and the GA DOE.
- In partnership with the district office, Baggett Elementary School launched an internal leadership program to develop the skills and knowledge of participating certified staff members in order to conceive of and implement a professional passion project that positively impacts the school community.
