Beaver Ridge ES Extracurricular Activities

A variety of clubs support student growth beyond the classroom by encouraging exploration of interests, skill-building, and social connection.

Beaver Ridge ES has Drama Specials for All Students

Every student participates in a Drama special to develop creativity, communication skills, and confidence through activities like role-playing, improvisation, and performance.

Drama Club Students performed Disney’s “Finding Nemo, Jr.” musical during the Celebration of the Arts Night, led by faculty in directing, music, and visual design roles. They also performed at Drama Day: The Foundation of Theatre in GCPS.    

Music Education

Beaver Ridge ES has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education Award from The NAMM Foundation! This achievement reflects the incredible dedication of our music teacher, Ms. Genevieve Simms, teachers, and administrators. Together, we’ve helped make music an essential part of every child’s education fostering creativity, growth, and learning through music.

Curriculum Nights

Held in Fall and Spring, these events offer parents insight into foundational PK–5 literacy and math instruction, with opportunities for discussion and collaboration with teachers.

Parent Support

The Beaver Ridge ES Parent Center provided a variety of classes, including English language, nutrition, and academic support, to empower and engage families. In addition, we successfully completed the sixth year of our Play 2 Learn program, a kindergarten readiness initiative that promotes early academic and social development through interactive, play-based learning experiences for both children and

GCPS Pre-K Program

In its third year, this program focuses on preparing 4-year-olds for kindergarten through age-appropriate lessons in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.

Extended Learning Time (ELT)

Beaver Ridge Elementary provides academically at-risk students with opportunities for intervention through the Extended Learning Time program offered after school. The focus of this program is to offer differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.    

S.T.E.A.M.

Beaver Ridge Elementary School partnered with Next Generation Focus to offer students a variety of afterschool opportunities that support academic, enrichment, and personal development. These programs emphasize creative, hands-on learning through engaging S.T.E.A.M. projects (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), as well as enrichment activities such as athletics and the arts.
