- Brookwood Elementary was recognized by the Georgia Governor's Office of Student Achievement as a Bronze Award winner in the Highest Performing category. This award recognizes our school's overall achievement in the top 7% of the state over the last three years.
- Brookwood's students, staff, and community members generously supported many service projects, including American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Care Team, and Relay For Life. Brookwood was recognized once again as the #1 School in Gwinnett County with over $20,000 in donations to the Kids Heart Challenge.
- The Brookwood Robotics Team was invited to attend the First Lego League State Competition at Georgia Tech this year. Out of a field of incredibly tough competitors, the BES Robotics team placed 8th in our tournament division. The team also won the Robot Design Award at the Super Regionals Competition.
- Brookwood Elementary celebrated its 40th Birthday this year! BES opened its doors in 1985 and celebrated 40 years of Excellence with a school-wide birthday celebration this year.
- Our students have the opportunity to participate in many extracurricular clubs and activities to support their growth. Students may choose to participate in several before/after-school clubs, including Fifth Grade Chorus, Art Club, Intramurals, Robotics, Math Club, and Beta Club. The Beta Club participated in several community service projects and collected over 2,000 cans/food items to support local food pantries.
- Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) supports our school by providing resources to classrooms, students, and teachers. The PTA also plans many special events to build positive relationships among families.
- Brookwood Elementary's Entrepreneurship "specials" class encourages all students to create and develop ideas with an entrepreneurial mindset. This Brookwood Cluster initiative allows every child the chance to be an entrepreneur through creative assignments and the sharing of business ideas.
- Brookwood Elementary hosts multiple events for our students and families throughout the year. The annual Winter Candlelight Luncheon, Lunch on the Lawn, and the Spotlight on Learning Family Night allow families and students to create lasting memories.
- Brookwood Elementary's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Class cares for the school's gardens. The gardens help teach children about the environment and how plants and food are grown.
- Brookwood Elementary was recognized as a Taking Action Green & Healthy School in the Environmental Achievement Awards sponsored by Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful.
