- Craig Elementary School's dedication to literacy has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education. As a 2022-2023 Literacy Leader, we have achieved exceptional results, with over 90% of our third-grade students reading at or above grade level, instilling confidence in the quality of education we provide.
- Craig Elementary School was recognized by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for implementing its “No Place for Hate” program. No Place for Hate encourages stakeholders to play an active role in combating bias and bullying as a means to stop the escalation of hate.
- At Craig Elementary School, we take our commitment to the PTA seriously. In fact, 100% of our staff members are proud members of the PTA, demonstrating our dedication to the school community.
- Craig Elementary School has Peer Leaders. These include 20 of our 5th-grade students who served our younger students and the school and coordinated various service projects, including Great Days of Service, United Way, and Bus Driver Appreciation Day.
- Craig Elementary has more than 50 students participating in the Chorus; four are selected for the Gwinnett County Honor Chorus.
- Craig Elementary School's dedication to environmental sustainability has not gone unnoticed. We were honored as a “Taking Action Green and Healthy School” in the Environmental Achievement Awards sponsored by Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful, a testament to our commitment to a healthier planet.
- Craig Elementary received a $1,000 Wellness Center grant from Northside Hospital to support our staff's social and emotional learning.
- Craig Elementary is strongly committed to developing students’ entrepreneurship skills. Students in grades 3-5 participate in a school-wide entrepreneurship program.
- Craig’s fathers and other family members participated in our inaugural All Pro Dad program throughout the school year.
- Our students can participate in many extra-curricular clubs and activities to support student growth. Our students represented our school well in the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Spelling Bee, Robotics Regional Competition, Witzzle Pro Math Cluster Tournament, Reade, and the PTA Reflections Contest. Students may participate in many before/after school clubs, including the 5th Grade Chorus, Running Club, and Robotics. They could also attend a 6-week AKS club each semester in subject areas such as cooking, arts, sports, chess, board games, and Legos after school.
