School Highlights

The following school highlights showcase how Harmony Elementary School is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence. Visit the School Profile Dashboard to find more detailed data on our school.

  • Harmony students, with their dedicated efforts, have experienced a significant rise in literacy achievement. The iReady Universal Screener growth scores have surged from 35% to 69%, a testament to the success of our focused educational literacy initiatives. This improvement is a result of our students' commitment, coupled with quality, knowledge-based literacy instruction and investments in professional staff development, empowering teachers to deliver impactful lessons.
  • The student council, with their unwavering commitment, has prioritized student voices in each monthly meeting. Their initiatives, such as student kindness week and the creation of affirmation posters, have significantly improved the Harmony community. Their analysis of the EES data has provided valuable feedback on our strengths and weaknesses, guiding us towards a brighter future. As the voice of the students, they ensure that every perspective is heard and valued, inspiring hope and positive change.
  • Harmony Elementary School is a part of the Seckinger Cluster that focuses on educating students with the AI Framework. Our goal is to ensure that every student understands AI and can navigate its impact, making them future-ready individuals. No matter the industry or area of interest that a student may have, technology is already impacting it and changing what is possible. We provide Future-Ready learning experiences by embedding these skills in our existing AKS. We offer a Computer Science special to all students, where they learn the basics of coding, programming, and being creative problem solvers. We also provide opportunities for students to use various digital tools that can assist them with becoming future-ready.
  • Harmony's FLL Robotics Team has achieved remarkable success, winning first place for our Innovation Project in the Regionals Competition and earning an invitation to compete at the Super Regionals. The Harmony's FLL Explore team (2nd & 3rd graders) has also made us proud, winning awards for Gracious Professionalism, Coding, Engaged Learners, and Enthusiastic Problem Solver. Their achievements fill us with pride and excitement for their future endeavors.
  • Harmony Elementary hosted our International Night in May. Our chorus performed songs from around the world, families shared food and facts about their countries, and students traveled around the school to learn about different countries and participate in cultural craft projects.
  • Harmony Elementary had four teams in grades 2-5 compete in the national math competition, Continental Math League. Harmony 5th graders placed 4th in the state of Georgia! We also had three students who had a perfect score in all the Math meets and received a medal from the Continental Math League for being a national winner!
  • Harmony's Junior Beta Club continued to grow this year! This club is by invitation only and is based on good academic standing and good citizenship. We had 30 members this year and received a reward for continuing to grow our club! We continued to partner with the North Gwinnett Co-op and Home of Hope, the local children's shelter, to collect donations to support our community.
  • Harmony Elementary held a community celebration on January 21, 2024, to commemorate its 100th anniversary. Former and current students, staff, community members, and distinguished guests gathered to commemorate a century of learning and community spirit. In addition to an official ceremony, guests toured the building and explored artifacts from Harmony’s history.
  •  Harmony was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education with distinguished status for the second year in a row for its implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in the last school year. Harmony leverages PBIS to teach expectations and provide feedback and acknowledgment for students who exhibit positive behavior at school.
  • Harmony teachers participated in extensive professional learning to sharpen their skills in new math and language arts curricula.
