Title I Distinguished School
Jackson was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a Title I Distinguished School in 2025. Distinguished Schools are among the highest-performing 5% of Title I schools in the state based on a combination of Language Arts and Math content mastery scores from the statewide assessments.
Kindness and SEL Assemblies
Kindness Ambassador and author Stan Tucker visited Jackson, inspiring students through grade-level assemblies focused on kindness, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and showing pride in their school community. Students participated in his writing club and three young authors were selected for a national publication.
Early Learning Opportunities
Children from birth to age 5 in our surrounding community are invited to participate in Play 2 Learn twice a week and Little Learners Academy once a month, building strong foundations for future success.
Kinder Cub Camp
Jackson hosted its 7th annual Kinder Cub Camp, welcoming rising kindergartners during the summer to help them transition smoothly into elementary school life.
Student Council Leadership
Jackson’s Student Council led initiatives such as the Great Days of Service food drive, a shoe fundraiser with the PTA Sneaker Ball, and a staff appreciation campaign with handwritten notes. Members also attended the elementary Peer Leadership Conference.
Faculty Professional Learning
Nationally recognized educator, author, and speaker Jimmy Casas facilitated professional learning for Jackson faculty and staff, focusing on strengthening high-quality Tier 1 instruction.
Literacy & STEM Enrichment
Thanks to our PTA, the Gwinnett County Book Mobile visited Jackson, providing a free book for every student. Students across all grade levels participated in High Touch High Tech in-house field trips, bringing hands-on science and STEM experiences to our school.
Vibrant Extracurricular Programs
Jackson students expanded their learning beyond the classroom by participating in Art Club, Chorus Club, Drama Club, Readers Rally, Math Club, Lions on the Move running club, Good News Club, Lego Discovery Robotics club, Lego Explore Robotics club, and the Robo Lions Challenge Robotics club.
Family Engagement Events
Our families came together for meaningful learning experiences at Family Math Night in the fall, and Family Literacy Night and International Night in the spring, celebrating academics and diversity.
PTA Community Events
The Jackson PTA hosted memorable community-building events, including the Small & Tall Ball family dance, family Movie Under the Stars night, and Jackson Jam, bringing families together in fun and fellowship.
