Kindness and SEL Assemblies
Kindness Ambassador and author Stan Tucker visited Jackson, inspiring students through grade-level assemblies focused on kindness, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and showing pride in their school community.
Early Learning Opportunities
Children from birth to age 5 in our surrounding community were invited to participate in Play 2 Learn twice a week and Little Learners Academy once a month, building strong foundations for future success.
Kinder Cub Camp
Jackson hosted its 6th annual Kinder Cub Camp, welcoming rising kindergartners during the summer to help them transition smoothly into elementary school life.
Great Days of Service Garden Project
During Great Days of Service, volunteers built garden boxes, which our STEM teacher and students filled with vegetables and flowers. Students learned about ecosystems as they nurtured and maintained the garden.
Student Council Leadership
Jackson’s Student Council led initiatives such as the Great Days of Service food drive, a shoe fundraiser with the PTA Sneaker Ball, and a staff appreciation campaign with handwritten notes. Members also attended the elementary Peer Leadership Conference.
Faculty Professional Learning
Nationally recognized educator, author, and speaker Jimmy Casas facilitated a dynamic day of professional learning for Jackson faculty and staff, focusing on strengthening school climate, culture, and instructional practices.
Literacy Enrichment
Thanks to our PTA, the Gwinnett County Book Mobile visited Jackson, providing a free book for every student. The PTA also sponsored High Touch High Tech in-house field trips for all grade levels, bringing hands-on science experiences to our school.
Vibrant Extracurricular Programs
Jackson students expanded their learning beyond the classroom by participating in Art Club, Chorus, Drama Club, Readers Rally, Math Club, Lego WeDo Robotics, Lego Simple Machines, and the Robo Lions robotics club.
Family Engagement Events
Our families came together for meaningful learning experiences at Family Math Night in the fall, and Family Literacy Night and International Night in the spring, celebrating academics and diversity.
PTA Community Events
The Jackson PTA hosted memorable community-building events, including the Big & Tall Dance, Family Movie Under the Stars, and Jackson Jam, bringing families together in fun and fellowship.
