- There was a school-wide emphasis on differentiated small-group instruction, critical problem-solving, and active engagement to meet the needs of every student.
- The Georgia Department of Education awarded Knight Elementary School Distinguished status for its successful implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) during the last school year. PBIS promotes positive behavior by recognizing students who demonstrate appropriate conduct at school.
- All students at Gwinnett Elementary School get the opportunity to take a Computer Science special. In these classes, students learn the building blocks of how computers work, laying the foundation for further coursework they will take in middle school.
- Knight Elementary School offers students the opportunity to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities with twelve clubs, including Knight Singers, STEM Club, FIRST Lego Robotics Club, Garden Club, Reader’s Rally, Student Council, Orff Club, Math Olympiad Club, Girls on the Run, STEM Fair Club, Art Assistant Club, and Kindness Club.
- Future Knight students attend Play 2 Learn each week. Play 2 Learn is a program for young children, ages birth to 5, where families and children learn together through engaging lessons and play.
- Knight Elementary continued to partner with student leader volunteers from the Parkview High School Hispanic Organization Promoting Education (HOPE) club at various family events to assist with interpretation services.
- Knight Elementary believes every child is unique, capable, and full of potential. Knight designs Family Workshops to be inclusive, engaging, and empowering for all families, including Gifted and Multilingual Learner Workshops and our Limitless Kids program, a parent-led group that supports students with special education needs.
- Knight Elementary started an All-Pro Dad Chapter to provide a monthly opportunity for dads to spend quality time with their children before school and to strengthen their relationship.
- Knight Elementary hosted the annual “Knight in the Garden” event, celebrating the unique outdoor learning environment, the arts, and literacy.
- Knight Elementary’s business partnerships continued with Chick-fil-A and Publix Patrons.
