School Highlights

The following school highlights showcase how Lawrenceville Elementary School is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence. Visit the School Profile Dashboard to find more detailed data on our school.

  • Lawrenceville Elementary continued to be one of eight GCPS schools that offered the Early Learning Pre-K pilot and will continue to serve Pre-K students in the 24-25 school year. Additionally, we have continued our Play to Learn program for Birth to Five, and for the first time since its inception, LES opened a second Play to Learn class due to the program's successful growth.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary continues to be recognized as a Reaching Higher Green & Healthy School in the Environmental Achievement Awards sponsored by Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. Our garden continues to grow under the care of our staff, students, and community members. During the 23-24 school year, LES dedicated a garden space in loving memory of one of our students.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary has a thriving fine arts department features some incredibly talented students. This year, the LES students performed The Lion King Jr. to two sold-out audiences at the School of the Arts (SOTA). To participate, students auditioned for acting, singing, and dancing parts, which yielded a performance worthy of the big stage. Given their stellar performance, the LES students were invited to reprise their performance at the May board meeting, where many in the Gwinnett community could see portions of this incredibly successful performance.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary launched a state-of-the-art podcast on Spotify this year entitled LES Presents: Knightworthy. This podcast is student-researched and student-led under the direction of our media specialist. Our students can leverage their communication skills and reach out to the community at large while focusing on topics that are interesting to all. From gaming, sports, entertainment, reading, and so much more, this podcast is worthy of a listen.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary received the Silver Governor’s SHAPE Award and continued our support of healthy living for our students by participating in the Strong for Life campaign and Kids Heart Challenge.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary's very own dance teacher, who leads the LES Dance Ensemble and LES’s first daily dance specials class, was, of course, a dancer in the movie The Color Purple.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary's music teacher served as the Georgia Music Educators Association Elementary Division Chair and was responsible for the Statewide Elementary Honor Chorus.
  • Nine Lawrenceville Elementary students participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association Statewide Elementary Chorus and the GCPS 5th grade Honor Chorus.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary provided extracurricular programs for students such as Physical Education Club, Chorus, Garden Club, Safety Patrols, News Crew, Sewing Club, Play-Doh Club, Dance Ensemble, Girls Who Code Club, Robotics Club, Orff Ensemble/Modern Band, and Girls Wearing Pearls.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary provided and hosted successful family and community events such as our Multicultural Family Night, PTA Fall Festival, Fine Arts Night, Easter Festival, Candlelight luncheon, and various parent workshops.
  • Lawrenceville Elementary is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
