School Highlights
The following school highlights showcase how Lilburn Elementary School is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence. Visit the School Profile Dashboard to find more detailed data on our school.
LES Chicken Coop
We’re excited to announce the addition of a brand-new chicken coop on campus! In partnership with Archer High School, this hands-on experience will give students the opportunity to learn about animal care, sustainable practices, and responsibility—all while enjoying fresh eggs and daily visits with our feathered friends. It’s sure to be a fun and educational addition to our school community!
Paint Love Mural
In partnership with Paint Love, our students brought their voices and vision to life through a powerful, student-led mural project. Designed to reflect and celebrate our school’s rich culture of diversity, the mural was the result of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and creativity. Paint Love guided the process by incorporating social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies that emphasized inclusion, empathy, and acceptance—helping students express who we are as a school community through meaningful, lasting art.
Walton EMC: School Empowerment Grant
Thanks to a generous $5,000 School Empowerment Grant from Walton EMC, we’ve expanded our outdoor makerspace environment with a brand-new sensory garden and STEM-focused exploration area. These additions provide students with engaging, hands-on opportunities to connect with nature, spark curiosity, and support wellness through sensory experiences. It’s another step forward in creating innovative, inclusive spaces that nurture both learning and well-being.
Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation: Growing School Gardens Grant
We’re thrilled to have received a $10,000 grant from Sprouts Farmers Market to support our expanding farm-to-school efforts! This funding helped bring our new chicken coop to life, enhance green spaces across campus, and deepen our commitment to hands-on, sustainable learning. From fresh eggs to thriving gardens, our students are gaining real-world experience in environmental stewardship, healthy living, and the power of growing their own food.
Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful
This year, we proudly hosted an inspiring event in partnership with Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and the Green & Healthy Schools program. Educators from across the district came together on our campus to share ideas and collaborate on integrating sustainable practices into schools while empowering students to become confident stewards of the environment. It was a powerful day of learning, connection, and forward-thinking for a cleaner, greener future.
English Classes for Adults
This year, with the support of 85 Community Development Corporation, the English class for parents was a remarkable journey of growth, confidence, and community. Designed to support families and empower parents, the course helped participants improve their English for everyday life. We’re incredibly proud of our 22 graduates and grateful for their commitment and courage. Language is not just about words, it’s about opportunity, connection, and confidence. We look forward to continuing the journey next year!
Lilburn Dance Club
Lilburn Dance Club focuses on fitness and agility through movement for students in grades 3 through 5. Students learn about the connection between learning and health, as well as the importance of participating in athletics and teamwork. Students learn about collaboration through acts of community service. This past winter, the Dance Club collected hundreds of hygiene and toiletry products for Lilburn families.
Ladies to Bee
Ladies to Bee continued to thrive as a club dedicated to empowering young girls to be peer leaders in our school, community helpers, and LES ambassadors. Through meaningful service projects, our “Bees” demonstrated compassion, creativity, and initiative. They facilitated a sock drive for children in foster care, wrote heartfelt letters to residents in local assisted living homes, and packaged warm blankets along with personalized greetings for families in need within our LES community. They showed appreciation for our staff by organizing and distributing Gratitude Gifts to teachers for Thanksgiving. The year culminated in a successful food drive to support the LES food pantry. The girls were actively involved in every step. They chose the projects, created the promotional materials, appeared on the morning announcements to promote their projects, and collected and sorted donations. Their efforts have not only enriched our community but also fostered leadership and service-mindedness in our young girls.
Robotics Program Information
LES has a growing robotics program, and this year we had over 50 students participate in after-school robotics activities. The Lilburn Legomatics researched and created a new wetsuit for scuba diving that included technology and innovation. Their robot, BATMAN was able to score 135 points and complete several missions on the competition. We are very proud of their teamwork and great sportsmanship. They truly showed their LES BEST as the Legomatics won the Grayson High School Regional Tournament."
